Ordering Red Sox Tickets Online

Thanks for the replies to my other thread on this forum, which now leads me to my next question. I have gone on the Red Sox website to try to order tickets for the Jays game at the end of August. It says that tickets are not available for sale. Does this mean that they won%26#39;t go on sale through this website at all, or just not yet? I noticed most games you could purchase tickets for, including the Yankees games so I wondered what the determination was for why one can%26#39;t purchase tickets for certain games.

I have checked out Stubhub - thanks for that link. Obviously they are pretty costly, but if we%26#39;re traveling all the way to Boston, I guess we%26#39;ll have to just bite the bullet. What are the Standing Room Only tickets? And would the infield grandstand tickets be a good choice?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Hi, if the Sox website says there are none available, then that means they have sold all the tickets they are going to for that game. However, they usually release some tickets the DAY of the game, which doesn%26#39;t help with planning. I was on the site yesterday and found that the games with tickets available were all standing room only - not actual seats. I have never bought those but know that some people on this board have, so hopefully they will give you advice. I would only pay StubHub prices if I had no other choice. - I have used both ebay and craigslist successfully to buy Sox tickets at more reasonable prices. Once I even got them on ebay for face value + shipping. Hope this helps.

I used Ace last year and we paid 75+ for high bleacher seats. They were fine and we had a blast. This year I paid 55 on Stubhub for section 40 which is really close to the bullpen and we are in the 4th row so I am very happy. No way would I do standing only. I found Ace and Stubhub agents great and I called them direct using Skype (as I live outside the US).

Standing Room Only tickets means there are no seats, you stand for the entire game in a designated area. Some areas have great views, other not so much. Infield grandstand is a much better option.

Sometimes seats get released a few weeks before the actual games, these are tickets that were held for large groups or the visting team. But again, if you are plannign a trip, you can%26#39;t count on them.

If your primary reason for visiting Boston is to see a ball game, then you%26#39;ll probably need to bite the bullet and go w/ a reseller. If you want to see Boston and HOPE to go to a game while you are here ... then you can take your chances. Only you know what you and your family really want to do, kwim?

Thanks all for your advice. Having never been to Fenway, are there any sections that should be avoided because of obstructed views or other reasons?

I would completely avoid sections 4 through 8, and I would opt for the bleachers over 1 through 3. Try for a higher-numbered section than 9.

These are the stands in right field. The viewing angle is awful. Sections 1 - 3 have a better angle, but they%26#39;re as far from the plate as the bleachers and much more expensive.

Anything on the left side is fine. Anything in the infield is great. However, the usual caveat does apply: If you%26#39;re in the reserved grandstand, not a box, you could have an issue with a pole.

Thanks wpsaukee! I have found 4 seats together available on Ebay in section G23 for $215. Does anyone have any thoughts on whether this is reasonable, and in an okay area for viewing?

Before committing to anything, try calling the box office. Sometimes there are tickets available by phone that are not available online!

I you pay a total of $215 for four seats in section 23, that%26#39;s only $15 above total list price. It%26#39;s a great section. I would have to guess that those seats are rather high up and are likely to have some obstruction from a pole, but that%26#39;s nothing you can%26#39;t live with. It sounds like a good deal to me.

I think that%26#39;s a really good price for G23. Those seats have a $50 face value. That being said, I would contact the seller about whether or not there%26#39;s any pole obstruction.
