car rental

We will be in town over the 4th of July weekend with two boys 11 %26amp; 8. We will be staying with relatives who will be picking us up at the airport. If we need a car later, are there any car rental offices anywhere in Plymouth? Are there any companies that offer Pirate Cruises? Are the ghost tours at night too scary for the boys? We plan to go to the Plantation, Mayflower, and the rock. Any other suggestions of places or things to do with boys? Will it be warm enough that time of the year to spend a day playing on the beach? Thanks

Hi, Brevin

If you need a rental, there is Thrifty, Budget and Enterprise in Plymouth to rent from.

Lobster Tales is the company to get in touch with for the Pirate Cruise. The kids would also love the Lobster excursion cruise offered by the same company. I can%26#39;t comment on the Ghost Tour since I never went on it. I checked online and noticed they sold tickets for the 12 and under crowd, so it can%26#39;t be all that scary. I guess it all depends on how easily your kids get scared.

The Plantation is a good visit. You all should enjoy that. The Mayflower II is also fun to see but the Plymouth Rock is always a disappointment to tourists. It%26#39;s just a small rock sitting inside an enclosure and that%26#39;s it. You won%26#39;t be there long, trust me.

A visit to Pilgrim Hall Museum is fascinating. It has a fantastic exhibit of Pilgrim artifacts if you think the kids might be interested in that.

There%26#39;s a couple nice beaches for the family in Plymouth. It will be warm enough to frolick around on the beach 4th of July weekend. Don%26#39;t forget about the 4th of July Parade and Fireworks as well.

Will007, Thank you so much for all of the info!! Do you have any recommendations for meals that are budget and kid friendly for lunch?

There are a lot of restuarants that are good for adults as well as kids. On the pier the are some seafood places that are really good. Most of them also have burgers, chicken nuggets, etc that appeal to the younger ones. On the main street there are some nice small cafes. Most of the dining in Plymouth is family oriented and and reasonably priced. The Dead of Night tours are not too scary for that age and a lot of fun.
