My husband and I will be in Boston for One day on Labor day. We will be arriving on a cruise ship. Can someone recommend a good tour or walk and stop for a drink and clam chowder somewhere. Also what would be the best way to get there from our ship. The Freedom trail sounds very interesting. Thanks so much for your help.
One Day in Boston one Labor DayThere are several trolley tours that leave from near the Aquarium. Boston CityWalks has a 10 AM whole city walking tour that leaves across from the Old State House (bostoncitywalks.com) Most cruise ships have a paid shuttle that will take you near the Waterfront, where you can walk to both of the above. If not, the only viable way would be taxi from the Black Falcon Terminal, where your ship arrives.
One Day in Boston one Labor DayThank you so much for your quick response. Any suggestions for a brew and chowder along the way. Where exactly would you recommend to start the Freedom Trail. We would also like to see the waterfront if time allows. Thanks again
The Freedom Trail officially bgins at Boston Common, but the sites are not sequential, so you can really join it anywhere it is convenient. There is a Legal Seafoods near the Aquarium, where you can get your chowder (and beer).
If you plan on following the Freedom Trail into Charlestown, the Warren Tavern is a great place to stop for chowder and beer. It%26#39;s about a five minute walk from the Bunker Hill Monument on the corner of Pleasant St. and Main St.
