Logan Airport Parking Options

I currently have a reservation at the Hilton Logan for one night before an early morning flight in a couple of weeks. I had contemplated simply renting a car to drive from Maine to Logan and renting another car for the ride home. Hilton has a park and fly where they charge about $24.00 per day to park in their lot. I see that Central Garage Parking at LOgan is $22.00 per day. Is there any advantage to using Hilton%26#39;s parking over the Logan Cental Parking? I believe my flight leaves from Terminal E.

The Logan Long-Term Parking lot charges $16 a day. But I%26#39;m a little confused. Why would you need any parking if you%26#39;re turning in your rental car at the Airport??

I think the original poster was ';contemplating'; renting a car, if they could not find cheaper or more convenient options.

No, there is no advantage to using the Hilton%26#39;s $24.00 a day rate. It is basically in the same area as the Airport%26#39;s Central parking.....

The previous poster is correct in pointing out that Logan%26#39;s Economy Lot is $96 a week....($16 a day for 6 or 7 days)

Allpro13,

As an alternative, if you drive down from Maine, you%26#39;d be on I-95 and you%26#39;d pass the Newburyport ';Logan Express'; C%26amp;J Trailways parking lot. It%26#39;s FREE to park here. A ton of New England people utilize this lot, it%26#39;s not just for the Newburyport residences or anything like that. A lot of Mass, Maine, New Hampshire plates are in their lot. Just give them a call to arrange for your car to be in their lot. Bring your registration the day of your flight and all that. The C%26amp;J trailways company will even valet park your car if there%26#39;s no parking spot for you, so how can you beat that? You could take the bus from here right in to Logan Airport and pick it up on the way back from your trip. It would be so much easier than what you%26#39;re planning to do. I also think you%26#39;d save a bundle going this way too. The buses are fairly new and very clean with really comfortable leather seats. The bus driver usually has a cooler of bottled water for every one. They have headsets for their TV/movie. They have a 3:30 AM bus that arrives at Logan at 4:15 AM. The last bus at night is 12:50 AM, if you miss it due to your flight arrival? You%26#39;d be able to relax for 2 hours and the bus schedule starts up again any way, so you%26#39;d still get back to the parking lot to get your car. There fares are reasonable. A lot of pilots and flight attendants do this every day.

The schedules, fares and directions are all on this site, read the site good because it lists exactly where your bus drops you off and picks you up. YES Terminal E is on here, they have benches right out front of each Terminal and you also can%26#39;t miss their famous blue sign where the bus pulls up! I%26#39;ve done this now a few times, it%26#39;s WELL worth it:

Good luck!

Thank you all for the responses. Can you tell me how close the Economy lot is to the airport? Is it a pain to take the shuttle bus? I%26#39;m traveling with some older family members and I want as little confusion as possible. Again thanks for the quick responses!

The economy lot is a fair distance from the terminals, but the shuttles run very frequently. We%26#39;ve never waited more than 5 minutes for the shuttle to the terminals. They%26#39;re low-step buses also, easy to lift luggage on to and easy for older folks to climb on (and shorties like me!).

You could drop your traveling companions off at the terminal, go to the economy lot and take the shuttle back to the terminal to meet them. Then just do the reverse when you return. We did this our last trip when it was pouring rain when we returned. I stayed at the curb with our luggage and my boyfriend went and got the car from the economy lot and came back to get me. Worked out great.

I agree with Diva21 the best thing to do is drop your party %26amp; luggage of at the terminal where its nice and warm, because sometimes you have to wait a few minutes for the bus,in fact the busess run 12 minutes apart.

The economy lots are actually located IN the airport. With a car, they%26#39;re a 5 or 6 minute ride from the Terminals, but the shuttle bus stops at each terminal, so your time will be variably longer.

Another approach to parking at Logan -- and the one I prefer to use -- is to park at the Thrifty Car Rental lot on Lee Burbank Highway, just a few miles from the airport. You can get an discount coupon online that reduces the parking rate to $14.36 per day. (Google ';Thrifty valet parking coupon Logan';)

It%26#39;s valet parking, so when you%26#39;re ready to depart, you leave your car and keys at Thrifty, take their shuttle bus to the airport, and get dropped off in front of the appropriate terminal door. When you return home, hop on a Thrifty shuttle bus and give the driver your parking stub. Your car will be ready for you by the time the shuttle returns to Thrifty%26#39;s lot.

I%26#39;ve used Thrifty%26#39;s Valet Parking dozens of times and have never had a bad experience. Best of all, it%26#39;s inexpensive when compared with Central Parking.

Why pay a ';discounted'; $14.36 with a coupon miles away from the airport when you can park IN the airport for $16 a day??
