We%26#39;ll be visiting Cape Cod for the first time with our 6 year old son. Our hotel is in Brewster. Does anyone know if there are seal or whale watching tours in April? Also, any other must-see places that are open off-season? Thanks!
What's open in April?
For whale watches out of Provincetown and with any luck the right whales will be around:

The tours are about 4 hours.

The seal watches are out of Chatham and IMHO a better bet with a 6 year old in chilly April.
You didn%26#39;t say when you were coming in April so I hope I didn%26#39;t miss you, a real gem right in Brewster is the Museum of Natural History!
Its small which is perfect for a young child%26#39;s attention span. My daughter is 17 and we still love the place. Its got a lot of information about the Cape, a bird room where you can watch the birds (and a lot of stuffed cape birds in another room). Turtles, fish, snakes... a great staff and the bee hive might be active in late April (its glassed in, inside so no worries about bee stings but they have a tube where they fly out on the side of the building.
In good weather AND LOW TIDE (ask) they have a good trail that goes out to the beach. Its pretty long and off the trail is poison ivy but its really neat and the beach there is beautiful.
