First time to Cape Cod-where should I go??

Hi!

My boyfriend and I will be driving from Boston in early June to stay somewhere on the Cape for only 2 nights (Fri/Sat). Neither one of us are familiar with the area or the towns. We are looking to enjoy the beach, bike, and just relax. I would like some nightlife, if possible, but this is not a major consideration. I would also like to take a ferry to MV or Nantucket. Please advise on the best place to stay for these interests and proximity to beaches/ferries, as I have no clue!!

Thanks!

Abby

Hi, the best place to fulfill all of what you want is Falmouth, which in addition to nice beaches, some good places to dine %26amp; hang out, also has ferry to service to the Islands. As your time is short you should know going to the Vineyard is the quickest option - here is a good link: http://www.steamshipauthority.com/ssa/

I agree that Falmouth fits your needs best. Since you are only staying 2 nights, you will likely run into minimum stay requirements in many places, so I wouldn%26#39;t delay in making reservations. You%26#39;ll most likely have to stay in a motel.

I agree that Falmouth is a nice choice.

Another town to consider would be beautiful Chatham. Lovely inns, b%26amp;b%26#39;s, one grand hotel, nice restaurants, classic downtown area, veautiful Lighthouse Beach for walks, fish pier, etc.

There%26#39;s a high speed ferry out of nearby Harwich Port at Saquatucket Harbor to Nantucket for short day trips.

MundoVagabunda: LOVE your screen name by the way! LOL!

I am thinking that you and your boyfriend would like to visit Falmouth for your stay. Why? Falmouth is only an hour from Boston and Falmouth is the home of the Falmouth Road Race which attracts over ten thousand world class runners. We are a community hat embraces physical activity such as running, biking and everything in between .

Stay at the Palmer House Inn on the Village Green. You will be right next to a very cool coffee shop called Coffee Obsession which is a great place to chat on one of the worn sofas. Here you will meet fisherman, oceanographers and soccer Mom%26#39;s all sharing space. Next door is Corner Cycle where you can rent roller blades or bikes and head out on the ten mile long Shining Sea bike path that glides through cranberry bogs, salt marshes, the oceans edge and finally to Woods Hole village.

Main Street www.falmouthvillageassociation.com) features eclectic boutiques and trendy restaurants mixed in with pubs and diners. At night you could hang out at Grumpy%26#39;s blues club(a short walk from the inn) or any one of the clubs in town and dance the night away such as the Beach House, Courtyard British Beer Company, or Carbo%26#39;s in Mashpee.

(If you like B%26amp;B%26#39;s I can rec. more, or do you prefer a hotel. Price range?)

Finally Falmouth has many sandy warm water beaches and trolley access to two of the ferries that go to Woods Hole. Check out www.falmouthchamber.com for more info.
