Thinking about moving there. Any comments would be helpful. I%26#39;ve also looked into Worcester, Grafton %26amp; North Grafton. Any info will be greatly appreciated. I am coming fron Brookly, Ny
Framingham, MassYou have to do your part and tell us what you%26#39;re looking for, where you%26#39;ll be working, and how much you want to spend. Rent or buy? Kids, schools, etc.
Framingham, MassThanks for replying Alanm, well since we are just starting out we will need an apartment, 2 bedrooms, $600-$650, cat friendly. I am a certified Nurse Assistant and when we visit next week, I will be going to a lot of the nursing homes I have looked into online. I have a 14yr old daughter and a 16 year old son, so school info would be helpful. My husband is a paratransit driver,(elderly %26amp; handicapped transportation) so he will be looking into that. We will staying in Westborough for the week and will be doing a lot of searching. My moving sooner than later will depend on what happens in that week. If you need any more info, just ask. Thanks again
You%26#39;re going to find that housing costs in Framingham will be much higher than you encountered in Worcester and Grafton. I doubt you%26#39;d be able to meet your monthly target Framingham is located closer to Boston and has a large manufacturing and shopping base. Schools are okay, but there are other towns in the area with better ones although you can expect to even pay more accordingly. Costs in Worcester should be considerably less and there are lkikely some opportunities in the Health Care field there for you.
Well coming from Brooklyn, Framingham may be a little less culture shock than 14 miles west in Shrewsbury/Grafton, however the greater boston area in general is a lot slower and quainter then just outside NYC. Framingham%26#39;s schools systems aren%26#39;t particularly great. The south side especially isn%26#39;t very nice and has problems with violence/drugs etc. You will find the cheapest apartments there though.. YOu can even buy a 2 bedroom condo there for 100k, but i wouldn%26#39;t live there.
I would say decent sections in Framingham are anywhere except south of Route 135. Stay out of the Beaver Street area and away from the Womens prison just south of 135 downtown(from the edge of Natick until you get close to Ashland along 135..it gets better toward the Ashland side near Keefe Technical School). It is an ok place to visit during the day, but there have been problems in those areas..
Have you considered Marlborough? Lots of cheap apartments there. It is not a bad area and borders Framingham to the Northwest.
