Hey all.. Going to Beantown for the 4th and originally was going to do the Esplanade for the show, but realized that we are only there for a few days and don%26#39;t want to spend the entire day there (even though it is fun)... Any suggestions on where to watch the fireworks that might have audio of the pops?
thanks
4th of July - where to watchHi,
The audio portion of the concert is simulcast on a few different radio stations. So, you just need to bring a portable radio with you and you can listen. I%26#39;m not sure what station will be doing it this year, but I believe that WCRB 99.5 usually carries it.
As for where to watch, my personal favorite place is the Longfellow bridge. It%26#39;s closed to traffic on July 4th, and I believe the construction is finally done so the walkways are open again. It gives you a straight, un-encumbered view of the Fireworks barge, and it%26#39;s not ever so horribly crowded that you can%26#39;t have room to move.
If you do go to the Longfellow, you want to walk up on the Boston-Bound side. The other side has a fence which blocks the view.
