North End Restaurant suggestion

My son is graduating from BC the weekend of May 16th and to celebrate we are planning a family dinner in the North End. Can anyone suggest a few restaurants with good food, clean and a welcoming atmosphere.

We are not interested in a restaurant that does not take reservations, as we will have between 15 and 20 people.

North End Restaurant suggestion

Hi,

My first suggestion would be Mamma Maria. They have a lovely space with private dining rooms just the right size for your group. The food is excellent and the service as well.

What is your opinion on Assiago Restaurant? Also, can you suggest a few more in case your first suggestion doesn%26#39;t work out. Thanks

Most of us like LaSumma, but a group that size might overwhelm them. However, you can call and ask them. And they DO take reservations.

Assagio and La Summa are OK. They are ';old school'; Italian. They are decent places, but not at all fancy. Mamma Maria is a very nice, higher-end restaraunt, food is more creative (also more expensive), not just red sauce. I think it is better suited to a celebratory dinner, such as a graduation dinner.

I%26#39;ve had good experiences at Lucca with a group that size.

I think the food at Assaggio is blah. It%26#39;s not bad, but you can do better. I love La Summa. A previous poster is quite correct in that it%26#39;s not upscale, but you should not take that to mean that it%26#39;s not a %26#39;nice%26#39; place. It%26#39;s casual but elegant in a classic way, very warm, welcoming and pretty spacious for the North End. It%26#39;s not gourmet, but the food is excellent and a great value. It could certainly accomodate your party and it does take reservations.

Taranta can also handle a group that size.
