My boyfriend and I are visiting Boston from the UK from 24 August for 1 week and then travelling onto washington for 1 week and we would like to take in a Baseball game. However, we have looked at their website, amd have noticed that they are playing nearly every night that week. Is there a chance that a game could be over early so on a particular night there may be no game?
Sorry if this is confuaing.
Thanks
Boston Red Sox games
Red Sox games weekly start at 7:10pm on weekend they start at 1:10pm,games can go from about 2 hours to 4 so they vary.
Boston Red Sox games
That%26#39;s not entirely true about weekend games. Some start later in the day (like at 4pm) and some are in the evening (though that is less common). It really depends if it%26#39;s a nationally televised game or not.
Kevling, I%26#39;m not sure I understand your question. I checked the schedule for that week, and the Mon-Sat games all start at 7pm, while Sunday is an afternoon game at 1:30pm.
What do you mean by ';a game could be over early so on a particular night there may be no game?'; Once a game starts, it is played until it finishes, which is generally about 3 hours.
As i was saying the week of August 24 Mon-Sat the games start at 735PM and on Sundays game starts at 135Pm i was pretty close.
Baseball is played mostly every day during their season.
Just to confuse you more:
The games may be canceled if it rains ( moderately or heavily). Occasionally they still play and have ';rain delays'; during the game or postpone the game if they played less than 5 innings.
Oops, sorry, Oldiesguy, I thought you were speaking more generally. My error.
No problem Veronica but you are also correct.
Kevling -- your question is confusing. Could you please re-phrase. No offense I can%26#39;t even think of a question to ask about cricket.
OK, I believe cricket can go on for days so I THINK I understand your question?
Baseball is a 9 inning game (3 outs per team = 6 outs per inning)
If the home team is winning at the top of the 9 th inning and the opposing team does not tie or score higher than the home team then the game ends.
If the home team is losing they finish the game after the full 9th inning.
IF there is a tie at bottom of the 9th inning then they play extra innings until the tie is broken but the home team gets their last ';ups%26#39; if they are losing. Then the game ends
Usually in professional baseball, they play a series of three DIFFERENT games with an opposing team. But the schedule for August 24 to August 27 will be the Red Sox playing a rare four game series with the Chicago White Sox. Unless it rains, there will be 4 different games with the Red Sox playing the White Sox. The next schedule series will be with Toronto for a 3 game series August 28 - August 30. The Red Sox will be off on August 31st for a travel day.
(In another rare occurrence they may play a ';double header'; 2 different games played the same day to make up for a previously canceled game.)
Confused????
Remay -- cricket can go on for days?!? OK ... with that little tidbit of knowledge, I think I understand the question ... which has already been answered. ;)
Just wanted to add, that if you can%26#39;t get tickets for a game at Boston, you might be able to get on in Washington (or even Baltimore).
