Stay away from Vacation Village in the Berkshires ,

I just want all to know that Vacation Village Berkshires is not a place to go if you are looking to relax....the only thing they are worried about is sales of the Timeshare units and get angry if you don%26#39;t buy. I am an owner at this property and am sorry I bought here. I originally didn%26#39;t care for the timeshare concept but gave it a chance, now wish I bought elsewhere. This is a letter I sent to customer service after a recent stay.

To Whom it may concern,

We are deeded owners at Vacation Village Berkshires. We have some major concerns that we feel must be addressed immediately. This is our first venture into timeshare ownership. We walked away from our purchase in January 2008 feeling pretty good about what we had just done. And, even better this January when we were informed we were paid in full and our deed would be forwarded soon.

As our first week of use approached we didn%26#39;t know or understand how to utilize what we had bought (a Week 21 timeshare at Vacation Village Berkshires). we made some calls for help and were told that there was a lot of recent confusion for new owners. We were told that if we came up for the weekend of 4/17/09-4/19/09 all of our questions would be answered.

This is where the real problem begins. After experiencing car problems on the way we arrived at 7:10 PM. We called to inform the resort we would be late as expected of us. At the front desk for check in we encountered a very rude front desk woman who acted like she din%26#39;t want to be bothered. This really wasn%26#39;t appreciated after we just spent some time stuck on I-90. We were then sent to owner services where we were given a 12PM appointment for lunch on Saturday.

We arrived at 12PM on Sat. for our appointment. We were told to have a seat and Brenda would be right with us. Brenda seemed to be very pleasant and willing to help us in any way. We enjoyed a nice lunch (with Brenda) at John Harvard%26#39;s, but everytime we had a question pertaining to the timeshare she would tell us she would answer all our questions when we returned. And, she said we had an RCI survey to fill out. Considering we have yet to utilize RCI due to not really understanding the process, we found this odd.

Upon our return to the resort, Brenda gave us the RCI survey to fill out. We answered the questions and started going over them with her. As she started asking us questions we realized this session was not to answer our pertinent questions. But, a sales pitch. This caught us very offguard, we did not know this was the reason we were there. And, I am not convinced Brenda knew we were tricked into coming either. Brenda, proceeded to explain to us how we had gotten ripped off the previous year and that our Week 21 condo was useless (not in those words). She told us that if we wanted to take our dream vacations we listed on the survey that we needed to upgrade our Week and our Unit style. Imagine our dismay to this information considering that when we bought Week 21 the salesperson told us about the trading power of Vacation Village Berkshire and its gold crown status. We were tricked into buying in January 2008 and now being asked by Brenda to trust her. My wife told Brenda we were not there for a sales pitch, but to learn more about how to utilize our condo the best. Brenda then got VERY IRATE at the fact that we weren%26#39;t interested at this time. IF anyone should be irate, it should be us. We have possesion of our deed. Our maintenance fees are current. We were tricked into buying a near useless Week 21. Tricked into making the weekend trip. And, we were treated poorly by people who work for the owner (us).

We don%26#39;t even know what avenue to take at this moment, but am exploring our options. The whole incident was very insulting. And, now with $7000 invested in this venture without even taking a vacation yet, very infuriating.

As for the rewards program you can believe we will not be sending anyone to the Berkshires anytime soon. We plan on spreading the word of the deceptive practices of Vacation Village Berkshires via; the internet, newspapers, and word of mouth (including while on our Week 21 stay).

Believe it or not this is a condensed version of our true feelings on this matter and Vacation Village.

Looking forward to your response,

I hope this is helpful to people out there, and am asking you to trust me when I say this is not just sour grapes.
