Hi,
Thank you for this wonderful forum. I have learned a lot going through past pages. My husband and I are spending the week in Mass. in July. We will be flying into Logan and will NOT have a car. We want to go to a Red Sox game (they%26#39;re playing at home all week so I think we have a little flexibility there). We had originally planned to stay in Boston for 2 nights, then go to MV. However, I%26#39;m wondering how we would get from the hotel to MV. I know we can take the Peter Pan bus from the airport. So perhaps we should go to MV first straight from the airport...but then how do we get from MV to a hotel? In other words is there a way to get to MV without a car and back to Boston without going to the airport?
Thanks for any tips!
Should we do Boston or MV first? (transportation question)
Believe it or not, the tickets for the Red Sox game will probably be the most difficult thing you face.
Should we do Boston or MV first? (transportation question)Even though there are plenty of tickets available online and we will be purchasing this week? Is there something I should know?
Thanks!
There sure is another way to get to the ferry from Boston without going to the airport. Peter Pan bus also has service from Boston%26#39;s South Station to Woods Hole for the ferry to MV. South Station can be easily reached by taxi from any hotel in Boston.
If I were you, I would spend your time in Boston first, since you%26#39;ll already be coming into Logan. This will give you two a chance to unwind first without hopping on a bus and ferry after a long flight.
P.S. You can%26#39;t purchase the bus tickets online for the trip from South Station (have no idea why). You need to call the 800 number.
Have a nice trip regardless of what you decide on doing and feel free to ask anymore questions you may have.

I don%26#39;t think there are plenty of seats for any Red Sox games left, the season is mostly sold out (well at least the good seats). As soon as you figure out what days you%26#39;ll be in MV and which days you%26#39;ll be in Boston, I%26#39;d pick a game and get tickets. There are numerous threads on here about good and bad seating areas at Fenway that can help you out.
Austin mom must be buying them through an online ticket broker like Stubhub or Ace Tickets. If that%26#39;s the case Austin mom, you%26#39;re all set.
Thank you so much, Will007. I did not know about the Peter Pan bus and South Station. I really appreciate your help. I%26#39;m so excited about this trip. I lived in the Boston area when I was a kid and love to go back, but don%26#39;t get there often. My husband has never been to Martha%26#39;s Vineyard (I%26#39;ve only been once, as a teenager) so we are really looking forward to it.
I am looking at Ace tickets and I have seen the seating suggestions posted here. Thanks--this forum is very helpful!
BTW, when you arrive on MV, there are taxis waiting to take you to your hotel, b%26amp;b, etc. Once there the Island bus system is very good, although I do suggest bike riding if you get a chance. Just remember it is a big Island if you do take this suggestion.
