Hi everyone!
Debating between staying at The Jurys or The Colonnade in late May. Goal is to be in an ideal location for shopping and dining out. Have stayed at Hotel Commonwealth in the past, so am looking for comparable style, comforts, and size of room. Any thoughts?
Thank you!
Jurys Hotel vs Colonnade Hotel
They are both in Back Bay at opposite ends so shopping won%26#39;t be a problem.
Jury is only a few years old. Colonade is an old time hotel
Jurys Hotel vs Colonnade Hotel
Thanks Kirin11! Can you give me any more specific details about either hotel? Both are priced comparably.
IMHO, Jurys is in a little better location, closer to the Downtown Area. From here, you could walk to Fanueil Hall, the North End or the Waterfront. The extra half mile (or a little more) from the Colonnade would push having to take the T to get to those places. Both, however, are close to shopping, restaurants, etc. and have good access to the T.
Jurys is newer but The Colonnade keeps its rooms up to date.
Either hotel you will be fine in. When you throw the shoping word in, I think I would lean to The Colonnade. It is across the street from Prudential Place and near Copely Place.
eileengs2 %26amp; Alanm,
Thank you for your input. I am getting the impression that the Colonnade is a little more on the %26#39;hip %26amp; stylish%26#39; side. I know that they just underwent a major renovation in 2008. It seems that both are in good locations for what I%26#39;m looking for, now it is just down to the actual rooms/service. I%26#39;m kind of a hotel snob, so it is all of the little things that matter to me (linens, comfort of bed, decor, toiletries, etc)! I absolutely loved The Commonwealth (excellent service %26amp; all the amenities I look for in a hotel), but my cousin said that the area will be quite hectic now that baseball season is on.
Late in May could be nice enough to sit by the pool on the Colonnade%26#39;s roof. I beleive they also set up a bar by the pool.
I would go with the Colonnade.
