Hi,
I%26#39;d like to propose to my gf at a restaurant on the waterfront with a backdrop of the water and the boston skyline. I%26#39;d like a really nice upscale restaurant. Any suggestions???

To see both at the at the same time is a little more problematic, since you%26#39;d see only the water (and not the skyline) if you were on the Downtown Waterfront. So two places come to mind where you CAN see both at the same time: The Daily Catch at the Courthouse or Anthony%26#39;s Pier 4. I%26#39;ll let other folks argue which is more romantic (but my vote%26#39;s for the latter).

How about an Odyssey Cruise?

Remay,
Great idea!!
First place I thought of was Boston Harbor Hotel - the Gazebo by the water is a beautiful setting. I have not dined at their restaurant however .
Another suggestion would be The Hyatt Haborside Hotel at the Airport. Very nice views of the Boston skyline from here, I have only had drinks here a few years back. I have not eaten in this restaurant.
Yes, skyline and water and upscale at the same time could be tough.
But, on the water, hat about Meritage at the Boston Harbor Hotel? Also, I wonder how the views are in Sensing at the new Fairmont Battery Wharf. These would be both ';nice upscale'; places. But, you better check them out in person and try to reserve a specific table with a view you like.
Crazily, Sensing does not have water views. With the complete lack of quality restaurants with water views in Boston, you think the developer would have made sure the restaurant at the new Fairmont would have water views.
I have a friend who proposed to his gf a couple of weeks ago on an Odyssey Cruise. He took a small decorated cake made with Will You Marry Me written on it and the ring with a bow on it on top of the cake.
He was successful :)
The walk behind the Court House can really set the tone. The stairs up the ICA is something nice to do.
The Dailey Catch is a nice idea. On a nice evening you can take your cocktails down to the ropes overlooking the harbor.
Haven%26#39;t been to The Fairmount yet. Rantipole..thanks for the post. I need to check it out.
Does the Royal Sonesta have a dining room with a view? Granted, it%26#39;s in Cambridge, not Boston, and the water is the river, not the harbor, but it%26#39;s tough to beat the view from there in my opinion.
