Is the price difference worth waiting to go in the summer?

I%26#39;ve heard this is a very expensive time of year to go to Boston. Would it be significantly cheaper (hotel wise) to go in the middle of summer or is it going to be fairly similar? I am on a budget and from FL (so the heat/humidity doesn%26#39;t bother me too much), and just wondering if it is worth it to wait. Spring in NY with all the tulips is worth it to see and I am wondering if Boston is the same...

Thanks for your thoughts!

Summer is great in Boston. I don%26#39;t really think you can count on the hotel rates going down from spring to summer.

Hi,

Hotel prices here generally peak in the fall. September and October are very busy times because of returning students as well as people coming to view the fall foliage.

Spring and Summer are a close second on the busy schedule. The only time there is a real lull and a real discount on prices here, is in the Winter.

If you don%26#39;t mind the heat/humidity, then July is a good time to come. If you want more pleasant weather, in my opinion, you should come in late August, like the last week or so, just before Labor Day. Generally speaking (and I make NO guarantees about this) the last week of August sees the first signs of cooler air coming in, and we usually have some gorgeous, dry and sunny weather and a break from the heat and humidity of early August.

Thanks, everyone! This is helpful.

May can be expensive because of all the college graduations. I would search for deals and come when you can get something you like at the right price. Hotel business is off here as everywhere and some good deals pop up. Travelzoo often lists some good deals.
