I may have waited too long as the Hotwire rates have raised. I need 1 night April 22. Any sales out there please? I know Fairmont has 159.00 for club members so may opt for that.
Thanks in advance.

Patriot%26#39;s Day is Monday April 20. The Boston Marathon is run that day. It brings a LOT of people into town from all over the world and some stay on for a few days after.
There%26#39;s two smallish conventions (1000 people/5000 people) starting on the 22nd. http://www.mccahome.com/events.html
It%26#39;s also school vacation week in Massachusetts so the city will be pretty busy during the day w/ locals doing day trips .... but shouldn%26#39;t affect hotel room too much ... unless somebody got a great deal for a %26#39;staycation%26#39;.
If you can get the Fairmont for $159, I suggest you take it.

Not sure how rates were on Hotwire, but there is still some good availability under your Fairmont rate:
Check betterbidding.com to confirm...
I see what is likely the Radisson for $88, the Parker House for $122, the Sheraton for $115, the Jurys for $143 among others. I%26#39;d also imagine you would have pretty good success on Priceline.
Thanks SO much everyone..I recall the marathon..guess we are looking at colleges a bad week. Cheers
Pickles, not knowing how these hotel discounters work will the price likely go up? My bids on Priceline just now were denied. I am locked into my dates 22/23 for college visits. Thanks
Also, check out Travelzoo. They have up to date information on promotions going on.

That%26#39;s one of the most common questions regarding these thrid party websites, and the answer is....we don%26#39;t know.
The price is driven by each hotel%26#39;s projected capacity and availability. Hotels have limited Hotwire/Priceline inventory, and usually when it is gone, it%26#39;s gone.
I%26#39;ve seen prices go down before, but just as many times go up. The advice I%26#39;ve been given is if you see a price you are comfortable with at a property you want, go for it.
With that being said, these prices on Hotwire that I%26#39;m seeing are right in line with about the lowest they go. I%26#39;ve seen the Parker House for $99, so it a little more. The Sheraton is about right for the lowest I%26#39;ve seen, not too sure about the Radisson, and I usually don%26#39;t see the Jurys on there, which is a great rate. The only one out of the norm is the InterContinental (4.5 star in Quincy Market/Financial District with Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Spa which is also a match for the Langham), which is $209 for your dates but I%26#39;ve seen go for as low as $117 for ultra low occupancy days. All that changes if this is the Langham, which I%26#39;ve rarely seen as a win on Hotwire.
A couple of things:
The Parker House is a historic property in the heart of the city. It%26#39;s actually the countries oldest continually operating hotel, and has a great deal of history. Malcolm X and Ho Chi Minh worked in the kitchen, JFK proposed to Jackie O there, Dickens was a regular, John Wilkes Booth stayed there a week before shooting Lincoln, etc. As such, the smallest rooms at the Parker House are really small! I don%26#39;t know, but I%26#39;m guessing these are the rooms usually assigned to the Hotwire/Priceline winners. You can always request an upgrade when you check in, but you may be outa luck...
The Jurys is a newer hotel and therefore, the rooms are larger and roughly the same size. Here, you needn%26#39;t worry about what room you get. It gets excellent reviews here on TA.
I%26#39;m not too familiar with the Radisson, but it seems to get solid reviews here on TA.
What did you bid and in what zones on Priceline?
Interesting developements Pickles and TA friends..I saw Travel Zoo had the Kimpton deal at Nine Zero where I have been dying to stay for years. I called and the first res agent said that rate was no applicable for my dates. I called again with a good feeling to ask for a AAA rate and spoke to Josh. I told him we were coming to Suffolk for my teen%26#39;s college interview. He advised me Suffolk had a great rate for students and prospective students: 179 plus tax. I grabbed it. I prefer small boutique hotels and am quite happy. Will report back next week.

Thanks Caribchakota, My daughter is a Junior at Suffolk, I wish I knew about this three years ago!
While visiting Suffolk make sure go up to one of upper floors of Miller Hall on Somerset, the views of Boston are amazing!
