We (me, my husband, our 8 year old son) will be in the Berkshires for a couple of days for the Harvest Festival at the Botanical Gardens. I%26#39;m assuming we can avoid a little traffic by not staying right in Stockbridge.
We%26#39;re looking for a nice inn or B%26amp;B that will welcome our son. We want to keep it under $250 a night. Based on TA reviews and a guidebook, I have it narrowed down to the Windflower Inn (Great Barrington) or the Race Brook Lodge (Sheffield), but haven%26#39;t yet called either one to check on availability. The rooms with alcoves with twin beds at Race Brook seem like an excellent idea, as our general preference when traveling with our son is for 1 BR suites.
Any comments pro or con for these inns or suggestions of other places we ought to consider instead?
(TripAdvisor: If you%26#39;re reading, I would love to see regional fora. I think it would be very useful to have, eg, a Berkshires forum and a Cape Cod forum, rather than just town by town.)
