Restaurant Suggestions?

We%26#39;re staying in Chatham the week of July 4th. We have a 6 and 11 years old sons. Interested in finding good places to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Places in Chatham to eat breakfast would be helpful. Also, we%26#39;ll be traveling around the Cape so we could use suggestions for lunch/dinner around the Cape. Thanks for everyones ideas!

Restaurant Suggestions?

Check out the Chatham TA page which has lots of suggestions for restaurants. Here is another page with reviews fodors.com/community/united-states/what-are-…

Would you believe that finding good places to eat is not a problem. There are a few 5* places but most cater to people staying at the beach with burgers, steaks and of course seafood.

If you have not had steamers before and like shellfish, then these are a must!! Also, stuffed quahogs are a local delicacy along with belly clams (not the clam strips served around the of the country). Once you get past the fact that you are eating whatever it ate last, they are delicious. This review has not been rated by Weight Watchers!!!!

Restaurant Suggestions?

I love shellfish. If they%26#39;re available from local waters, try them all!

Unfortunately, restaurants have been affected here because of the problems with the economy and there have been some closings. Fodor%26#39;s (and even TA) might not reflect a restaurant%26#39;s most current status.

If you find something that%26#39;s particularly appealing to you it might be best to email/call the restaurant directly. (or come back here and ask.)

It%26#39;s too bad melted butter isn%26#39;t a Weight Watchers %26#39;free food choice%26#39;. (maybe it is if one is eating a steamed lobster?) ;)

Ditto on Fussy%26#39;s suggestion about checking before you go. We were looking forward to dinner at one restaurant and found out when we called to make reservations that it was no longer in business.

Check out www.chowhound.com for excellent reviews. The Squire is fun for pub fare. Carmine%26#39;s has nice pizza. Vinings Bistro has always been good in the past.

Even though they have burgers on the menu for lunch, I wouldn%26#39;t classify the Squire Restaurant at all as a %26#39;pub%26#39; with pub fare. Not even close. The %26#39;daily specials%26#39; at lunch and dinner kick it up a notch. Check out the menu and the daily specials page online:

http://www.thesquire.com/

One side of the building is a casual restaurant, the other side is a bar with tables where food is available. I%26#39;m not sure if the daily specials are available in the bar during lunch/dinner but there are plenty of choices off the reg. menu. that do read more like %26#39;pub grub%26#39; choices.

Larry%26#39;s PX has a great, down-home breakfast.

you can also go to www.ChathamMenus.com and see all the menus for all the restaurants around Chatham. They also link up to the rest of the Cape menus too ... hope this helps!

capecodresident222--GREAT website. Thanks for sharing with all of us. It will be a big help especially to those visiting the Cape for the first time.

Fussy%26#39;s suggestion still bears repeating, however. Call first to be sure that they are still in business. The two restaurants that we all know are closed (Circadia and Center Stage Cafe) are still on the menus.com website. And I would highly recommend making reservations at the locations where you can, especially since FloridaGuy99 is visiting during July. I think the Cape will be less crowded this summer, but you can still wait a very long time to be seated.

And one additional, non-Chatham, suggestion. If you are up in the Wellfleet area, the Bookstore restaurant has good seafood and a nice view (if you are seated upstairs) of Cape Cod Bay.

FloridaGuy99: Don%26#39;t forget to check out the posts on your other thread with the same title that%26#39;s on the Chatham forum for more replies.

What%26#39;s the status of abbicci? anyone know?
