reasonable rate hotels near Greenline

I will be visiting Boston (for the first time) to do research at the downtown public library mid-August and would like to find a motel with reasonable rates in the area that is near a Greenline terminal so I do not have to drive into the city. Any advice would be welcome.

I know this is late, but there is a new hotel right next to Riverside Station at the end of the Green Line. Also convenient to Route 128 if you%26#39;re driving! Its the old Holiday Inn and has a new name, Hotel Indigo. Has a nice bar too.
