We are spending the night in Hyannis and leaving at 7:30 AM on a Friday in July to head to ACK. We%26#39;re driving form Philly on Thursday to Hyannis.
Any suggestions on where to stay for one night? Any idea of how long it might take to get to Hyannis from Philadelphia. I know it all depends on traffic but any sort of esitmate might be helpful.
Thanks!
One night in Hyannis before ferry to ACK
Seacoast inn would be my recommendation
Many hotels have a 3 day min . I%26#39;m not sure this is true for the Seacoast.
Gets great recommendation - no pool but for one night you can%26#39;t beat it.
What is ACK ?
One night in Hyannis before ferry to ACK
ACK is Nantucket
Thanks - Was thinking that it was :)
Sorry, I should have explained it better. ACK is the airport sysmbol for Nantucket, like PVD for Providence, BOS for Boston. Sorry bout that.
My guess on drive time from Hyannis to Philadelphia is 7 hours, but of course, as you noted, could be more. Its 5.5 from the south shore of LI. The only time we%26#39;ve done better is when we left at 10 pm and drove very late at night. The worst was Monday of Labor Day, when it took 11 hours from Hyannis to S.S.L.I.
You could also try the Courtyard in Hyannis, you know what you get for the price,
There is also a Radisson across the street from the airport

I%26#39;ve been doing the trip from Philly to ACK my entire life - and the older I get - the worse it is. At least you don%26#39;t have the Connecticut toll booths anymore.
Last year we spent a night at the Quality Inn in West Yarmouth - and it was horrible. Stick in Hyannis - and make sure you don%26#39;t sleep in.
The drive should take you 6 1/2 hours from the blue route to hyannis - with a short stop along the way. Now that I have kids - we end up making it a long 8 - 9 hour trip with a nice stop in Mystic CT. But if I didn%26#39;t have kids I would keep trucking.
We leave at 4:30am and are usually over the George Washington and in Connecticut by 7am at the latest. It%26#39;s grueling - but it%26#39;s no traffic.
I used to only go the Tappenzee - but my hubby is so anti that bridge and we have only used it once since I got married. I actually like the GW - just make sure you have EZPass.
Good luck and have fun on Nantucket. We are leaving in July for two weeks - and I%26#39;m on here looking for a hotel in Hyannis for when we come home. We can%26#39;t stand leaving ACK because starting the trip with the boat ride is just horrible - especially with kids.
The http://www.capecodresortandconference.com/ isn%26#39;t too bad. It was just redone and is only about a mile from the ferry. The Days Inn isn%26#39;t bad too and you can negotiate a good deal. Def go out to eat at the Island Merchant in Hyannis, it is a hidden jewel!
