Going to Boston in mid June to do a little sightseeing with 2 teenagers and husband. We%26#39;ll be going to a Red Sox game one night and seeing some of the historic sites, shopping, duck tour, etc. Trying to decide on whether to stay at the Hilton Back Bay or The Hilton in the Financial District.
Which one is nicer? Which is a better location?

Hilton Back Bay is much more convenient to Fenway. It is also very close to Newbury Street shopping and near the Hynes subway stop -- from there you can take the Green Line inbound a couple stops to the downtown area (or walk if the weather is nice).
The Financial District is a short walk (about 15 minutes) to Faneuil Hall and all the downtown historic sites. Not sure if you are traveling during the week or on the weekend, but be warned that the Financial District can be very empty on the weekend (e.g. all the Starbucks within a 5 block radius of the Hilton Financial District are closed on Sunday along with most of the area shops and lunch places).
Sorry, I cannot speak to the inside of either hotel -- but hopefully someone here can. Enjoy your trip!

Agree with previous poster.
The Financial District is more of a 5 minute walk to Quincy Market. 15 minutes of walking will get you to the North End where you will get better espresso and coffee than Starbucks.
I would probably lean to the Back Bay Hilton when going to a game. The Financial Distict is not very large, the isolation people talk about on the weekends could be an advantage. The area is not so isolated as years ago. Priceline and Hotwire keep hotels such as The Langham running at 80 percent.
The Back Bay location would be more interesting for your teenagers and as the previous posts mentioned it is much more convient to Fenway Park.
The Back Bay location is more lively and interesting, but either location is OK. The Back Bay Hilton is quite a bit older than the Financial District hotel. I%26#39;ve stayed there years ago and it was fine. I do not know how it%26#39;s been holding up , but I never heard anything bad. Take a look at the reviews here if you haven%26#39;t already and decide.
Fenway is very easy to get to by subway, but at the Back Bay location you will have the option to walk, which is nice.
We stayed at the Hilton Back Bay last July mostly for the location to Fenway. We had an very good experience at the hotel. The best part is you can walk to Fenway Park and only a block from the T station to get to anything else. We liked it so much we are staying there again for our return trip next month.
