Help with Itenerary for Boston

My husband and I have most of our days planned for our June trip. We arrive on Thursday early evening. On Friday we are doing Freedom Trail and Boston Common. On Saturday we are going to Fenway for a tour and game.

We are trying to figure out if we should visit Newbury Street/Little Italy on Sunday and Provincetown on Monday or vice versa. Not sure if shops are open on Sunday in Boston?? And we thought Monday would be less crowded in Provincetown, but we don%26#39;t want to make a mistake in planning.

Also when we visit Provincetown, which beach is the best - Race Point or Herring Cove? We will be arriving by fast ferry and will not have a car.

Lastly, would a visit to a lighthouse take up a lot of time? And if not, which one would be the easist to get to and be worth seeing?

THANK YOU

I%26#39;d do p-town on Monday. You can get to either Herring Cove or Race Point using the summertime bus. Herring Cove faces the bay and will be less likely to have huge waves. The view is pretty, land off in the distance. It faces west, so you can actually get a pretty sunset here.

Race Point is an %26#39;ocean beach%26#39; with sweeping views of the horizon.

Different beaches, a matter of personal preference ... none is really %26#39;better%26#39; than the other.

As for lighthouses ... the only one I know of that is opened for public viewing is Highland Light (aka Cape Cod Light) in Truro. I don%26#39;t know how easy that is to reach via public transportation.

Another option is to take the water shuttle from the pier to Long Point the very tip of the Cape. There is a light house there, but not much else. Be sure to bring water and sunscreen.

You may get better info on transportation once you get off the ferry if you post on the Provincetown forum you%26#39;ll probably get better details.

The North End (Italian area) is full of restaurants and cafes (open on Sundays), and some shops (mostly closed on Sundays). I went recently on Sunday morning to sit in a cafe and watch the world go by and it%26#39;s delightful. I don%26#39;t know if restaurants close on Mondays or not (check that out). Newbury St. is great on Sundays, full of people although I don%26#39;t know how the economy has affected things. I recall mix of shops open/closed on Sundays. Hope that helps.
