We are traveling to Boston in June to see Blue Man Group at the Charles Playhouse. We are taking the train in from Providence to South Station and will be spending the night at the Doubletree Downtown on Washington St. Is the Doubletree within reasonable walking distance from South Station or should we take the T closer to the hotel or even take a cab from South Station. Also can anyone suggest any good resturants/bars in the area of the Doubletree. We are not looking for 5* highend places, but no *1 dives.

Area Help
The Doubletree Downtown is walkable from South Station. I would say between 10 and 15 minutes. And The Charles Playhouse, in turn, is walkable from your hotel - probably less than 10 minutes. There are lots of restaurants in the area, including many in Chinatown.
